Today’s culture provides fewer avenues for health, lifelong exercise that encourages self-discipline and enhances self-eteem in a positive, interactive social setting. Tennis is one of the most affordable sports that satisfies these needs. The Sacramento Area Tennis Association is the access to tennis for all ages.

As a non-profit organization SATA was founded more than 60 years ago to promote the game of tennis throughout the greater Sacramento area. Its membership includes 30+ private and public tennis clubs within a 40 mile radius of the State Capitol. Some 6,000 tennis enthusiasts regularly participate in SATA leagues, tournaments and tennis-related events throughout the year.

Our vision is more people on more courts playing the way that works for them.

SATA is a Community Tennis Association affiliated with the United States Tennis Association (USTA). It offers up to 14 interclub leagues, Grand Prix tournaments, annual grant program and other events for juniors, adults, and seniors to enjoy tennis as a lifetime sport.
